Chapter 6 is a compilation of Dr Murray completing his graduate studies and the challenges and success he had in pastoring. It was very hard to find a focus point within this chapter due to the plethora of wisdom nuggets, but I did find one quote that I struggle with the most. “Our constant challenge is distraction.” Says Rev Murray, he continues “…the energies that cause this distortion in our perception are delusion, craving, and aversion. Delusion means that we deceive ourselves through preoccupation with our own ego; craving expresses a yearning for persons, which is lust, or for things, which is greed; aversion is turning away in distaste from what displeases us.”. Let’s see where should we start…..Delusion seems to plague those of us who unconscious prioritize our lives over everyone else’s, as if we are the main priority. Craving is what our society thrives on, the desire to want to be desired will always lead us down the wrong path. Aversion causes us to not appreciate the process of doing what you have to do in order to do what you want to do. Limit distractions and increase productivity, what’s distracting you?
