In Chapter 5 we explore Rev Murray’s career in the Air Force and the birth of his call to ministry. We learn of an instance that Dr Chip recalls oh so well, the time when he almost lost his life in a plane fire while in the Air Force. As death begin to knock at his door Rev Murray recalls hearing a voice clearly say; “Be still. Take off your helmet. Take off your parachute. Take off your life vest. Moving backwards, stick your head through the tiny opening, then push, slowly push.” This voice he spoke of, is what he calls the Spirit that infuses all who are open for the infusion. To infuse is to fill or pour into. To be open to infusion is to allow yourself to be filled or poured into. The interesting thing I’m learning in life is that everyday infusion takes place. The problem or the praise is in what we decide to be infused by.
