Long time no hear from, I missed the last two weeks of our class, but we are back on track. Today we discussed “Board Development”. The class was taught by Richard Diaz. Mr Diaz addressed the different attributes that your board of advisers should have and what key skills and character traits you need to to mindful of when choosing your board members. The characteristic that stuck with me was accountability. We all know the phrase birds of a feather flock together, and if you’ve been living for more than 1 year you know how rewarding or painfully true this cliche can be. Our circle of friends will always hold us accountable, the question is, what are you being held accountable too? If you hang out with football players you’ll be held accountable to performing well on game day, if you hang around intellectuals you’ll be held accountable to maintaining a high level of intellect. No matter who the flock is, thy will hold you accountable to the lifestyle they live. So in essence the lifestyle you want to live should reflect in the flock you associate yourself with. Who is holding you acccountable? and to what are you being held accountable to?
